Learn how to create beautiful lettering using brush pens in this modern, relaxed and informal style of calligraphy.

With over 6 years teaching modern calligraphy, Jen will teach you the calligraphy rules – and how to break them – to create your own unique, creative style. It’s all about enjoying the process!

You will learn the essentials – how to position yourself, your paper and how to hold then pen, and then start with beginner brush strokes and mark making. You’ll be practicing alphabets, upper and lowercase letter forms, and then eventually joining them to create beautiful words and phrases.

Using the techniques you’ve learnt you will create your own hand lettered piece that you can keep or gift, and before long you’ll be creating cards, invitations and gift tags for every celebration.

A brush lettering starter kit is included and used in the workshop so you can keep practicing and creating at home – and as well as guiding the whole class with demonstrations and instructions, Jen will be there to provide you with one-on-one tuition and troubleshooting any issues you may come across.
