Properly prepping furniture before painting can have a big impact on how your project turns out and how long the finish lasts.
Learn from someone who’s painted hundreds of pieces over 13 years.
On my one-to-one furniture painting workshop you’ll receive personalised, hands-on training to learn upcycling skills, covering preparation, paint techniques (blending, stenciling, waxing), and finishing, using top brands such as Fusion Mineral & Annie Sloan.
These sessions provide tailored guidance for all levels, from beginners to those wanting advanced skills like distressing, leafing, and creating custom finishes, ensuring you leave to confidently tackle your own projects.
What You’ll Learn
Preparation:
Proper cleaning, sanding (scuff sanding), and priming techniques for different surfaces.
Painting Techniques:
Applying chalk paint, creating layered effects, blending, distressing, and using stencils.
Finishing Touches:
Applying waxes, glazes, metallic minerals and sealing your piece.
All Materials Provided: includes paints, brushes, waxes, and practice boards.
Bring Your Own Piece – you bring a small item (chair, table, drawer, stool) to work on.
Lunch will also be provided.
